(I only have a few old favorites from Mega/SegaCD, PCE/Turbografx CD, 3DO, and PSX in my collection I’m mostly into older cartridge based stuff).Īs for PSX games, since some of mine are on multiple discs, I made m3u files for all my PSX games (single & multiple discs alike), so I could do a manual scan for just the m3u’s to make my PSX playlist, so that I can now use RetroArch’s Quickmenu to switch discs in-game easier, and make the save files work better with them. My RetroArch playlists for these systems (except for PSX) were all created using the add content > manual scan method and only scanning for the. My optical disc images are all bin+cue, which are formats that are compatible with all the emulators I use across all of my preferred platforms, and also RetroArch. So for consistency’s sake, and so I can use my roms on all of my platforms and emulators, all of my roms are uncompressed, except for MAME games. And some older builds of RetroArch and its cores that run best on lower-powered systems haven’t always played nice with archive files, either. I have a few different devices I like to emulate on, and some of those devices work better with emulators other than the cores found in RetroArch. 14 new cores compared to 1.6.I’ll explain my choices, but won’t promise it won’t be boring:.!ZUIyXAwA!uFB0AOu9xzrSSG0tkxt5WXmT3zTmhsXy7scF00lJK1I !ZFQGSTqK!rByu4wKhS3LWQdfBFGUFuFT3fgzRNYQK-iKnylF_5Kk !RQZCmabR!U969wTAacCldXmYFMyI8rR1iRDQOTsrmlqRo-h8sjtU The Legend of Zelda -Parallel Worlds version 1.2 (Zelda 3 hack) The Legend of Zelda -Goddess of Wisdom (Zelda 3 hack) The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past (2 different patches) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV - Turtles in Time Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers Super Road Blasters (unofficial port of arcade LaserDisc game) Super Mario All-Stars (not SMAS + Mario World) Return of the Double Dragon Famicom Version New Super Mario Land (unofficial homebrew port of GB game) Perhaps can link to this in his guide.īattletoads and Double Dragon - The Ultimate TeamīS Zelda Map 1/2, 3rd/4th Quests, Ancient Stone Tablets (all translated)īattletoads and Double Dragon: The Ultimate Teamīubsy in Clawed Encounters of the Furred Kindĭonkey Kong Country - Kremling's Revenge Remodel (DKC1 hack)įighter's History and Fighter's History MKįinal Fantasy II (Final Fantasy IV, actually)įinal Fantasy III (Final Fantasy VI, actually) Simply do a web search for "gamename msu-1 patch", and you should find what you're looking for. So, I have compiled a list of all known MSU-1 games (around 90, though some may be a WIP). They have the same rules as here regarding roms - somebody must be asleep over there. Unfortunately, there are several links with pre-patched roms (a BIG no-no in the rom hacking community), so I can't link to it. If everything is set up correctly, prepare to be amazed.įound a site with a ton of MSU-1 info - patches and PCM (music) sets a number of games have multiple music sets (remixes, etc.) available. sfc/.smc file with Snes9x like any other rom. XML and BML files are for other emulators - don't put them in the folder.Ħ. Gamename.msu (might be a huge file, or a zero-length file - DON'T DELETE!) For each MSU-1 game, make a folder and put the patched rom and the assorted MSU-1 files in there, using the following format. There should be a link(s) in the patch's readme (did I mention read this file? )ĥ. The Zelda 3 MSU-1 patch (and maybe others) require the rom to be expanded before patching (there's a tool for that).Ĥ. smc ones have headers - but don't rely on this! Tools and info are available at the site listed above. You may need a tool to check, then add/remove the header. Patch a headered rom with a patch intended for a header-less rom (or vice-versa), and it won't work. This is probably the most confusing part - SNES roms are particularly tricky because of headers. Make sure to read the readme with the patch - I can not stress this enough!ģ. Get the rom file referenced in the patch - you won't find them at the site listed above, it's not a rom site. I can get into more detail, but here is the basis of what you need to do.ġ.
